About Myself
Hello there! I’m Ammar, a recent ITE Graduate from Higher Nitec in IT Applications Development, and I’m always eager in picking up new skills and applying them into my day-to-day life! Photography is one of my biggest hobbies, be it taking photos for events or just during a day out in the city. This website serves as a portfolio as I capture and cherish the moments captured through the lens.
Starting the Photography Journey
While my main course of study in ITE was mainly on building software and web applications, I’ve always had a great interest in photography, where I built my foundation in secondary school under my CCA, Multimedia Club. As the Vice-President and a photographer, I participated in many school events, capturing the highlights with the DSLR camera given to me. I took it upon myself to put consistent effort into improving my photography skills, learning about the theory, equipment, and concepts.
Gaining Experience
During my time in ITE, I picked up basic knowledge of photo editing software (Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop) which I was then able to use in enhancing the quality of my photos, making my own personal touch-ups and finding a style. Having acquired my very own mirrorless camera, I took part in various competitions when the opportunity presented itself and volunteered myself to be the photographer for various school events, community service, as well as events by external organisations.
A Step Further
Along the way, I learnt that it was more than just point-and-shoot, and there were many factors to consider when capturing a photo. I wish to take my growing hobby of photography into something greater, a possible career path for me in the future, as I continue capturing pictures of precious moments, keeping myself open in learning new things, exploring different genres of photography, and giving my all.
